Poland’s Minister of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak, has announced a proposed change to traffic laws regarding railway crossings. Drivers who proceed through a railway crossing while the signal is red will face a three-month suspension of their driver’s license. The announcement was made during an appearance on “Fakty po Faktach.” A draft of the revisions to the Penal Code and road regulations is scheduled to be presented to the Council of Ministers next week. This stricter penalty aims to improve road safety at level crossings throughout Poland. The Minister hopes this will deter drivers from disregarding warning signals and potentially prevent accidents. The proposed changes are expected to be implemented swiftly following approval.
