Despite being promoted as a tourism and recreation event, Duraković claims the regatta regularly features individuals convicted of war crimes. He points out the irony of inviting Bosniaks to participate while simultaneously honoring those responsible for atrocities against them. The regatta, held in Bajina Bašta, has become a point of significant contention, highlighting ongoing ethnic tensions.
