Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) traffic division filed 2,201 cases against traffic law violators across the capital city on Monday, June 15th. The cases were filed following operations conducted in various areas of Dhaka. A significant number of cases involved buses and motorcycles, with 9 buses and 19 motorcycles cited in the Traffic-Ramna division alone, totaling 71 cases. The Traffic-Lalbagh division also reported 14 buses and 8 trucks among its cases. Authorities have not yet released a complete breakdown of all violations or the total fines collected. This crackdown indicates a renewed effort to enforce traffic regulations in the city. The DMP routinely conducts such drives to maintain order and safety on Dhaka’s roads.
