Police in Dhaka, Bangladesh, have arrested a major drug trafficker, identified as Md. Mostafa, alias Monu, 45, during a special operation in the Geneva Camp area of Mohammadpur. Monu had been allegedly controlling the drug trade in and around Geneva Camp for a prolonged period. The arrest was made on Saturday, June 13th, by Mohammadpur Police Station. According to Jewel Rana, an Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Tejgaon Zone, Monu is connected to a known criminal named Buniya Sohail. Further details regarding the operation and Monu’s network are expected to be released as the investigation progresses. The arrest aims to disrupt the drug supply chain in the Mohammadpur area. Authorities are continuing efforts to dismantle drug operations throughout the capital city.
