Following an attempted hijacking on a Flydubai flight travelling between Dubai and Tel Aviv, false videos have emerged online. One fabricated “BBC” report falsely accuses an Indian passenger of involvement and connects him to the pilot, Smit Machchhar, who was stabbed during the incident. This video is a deepfake, confirmed as never having been broadcast by the BBC and demonstrably doctored through altered footage and audio. A second misleading clip, filmed in Dubai, was falsely presented as occurring during the hijacking itself.
