Daugavpils City Council is attempting to restart a long-delayed road overpass project, initially conceived over ten years ago. The first phase of construction in Daugavpils, valued at 12.5 million euros, concluded in 2020. However, the second and final section remains incomplete due to a lack of financial resources. Despite the absence of secured funding, the council has initiated a tender to determine present-day costs for the project. This move signals a renewed effort to complete the infrastructure project in Daugavpils. The information was reported by LSM’s Latgale editorial office on September 7. The council hopes assessing current costs will pave the way for future funding applications and ultimately, completion of the overpass.
