Da Nang International Airport in Vietnam has implemented a counter-UAV system to address unauthorized drone activity. Following a month of operation, the system has detected a total of 597 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Of these, 458 drones were found to be operating within the airport’s no-fly zone, posing a potential safety and security risk. The deployment of this technology aims to prevent disruptions and ensure the safe operation of air traffic. Airport authorities have not released details regarding enforcement actions taken against those operating drones illegally. The system’s success highlights growing concerns about drone incursions near critical infrastructure. Further data analysis is expected to refine the system’s effectiveness and inform future security protocols.
