Thirty-five years ago, Czechoslovakia experienced a rapid increase in truck transport, leading to significant logistical challenges. Narrow roads and a lack of parking spaces near border crossings contributed to extensive delays, as did lengthy customs procedures. The situation began to worsen in the summer of 1991, escalating to critical levels by autumn. On October 7th, "Zelená vlna" reported a 100-hour wait for truck clearance at Rozvadov. These complications impacted the flow of goods and highlighted infrastructure issues within Czechoslovakia. The rising volume of truck traffic exposed systemic weaknesses in the transport network.
