Plans to fully restore the “Goat Path” railway, a scenic route from Děčín to Oldřichov u Duchcova in the Czech Republic, have been halted by the Ministry of Transport. The railway line, known locally as Kozí dráha, had a promising outlook for repair of the Krupka město – Oldřichov u Duchcova section, with initial commitments made last autumn by the railway administration (SŽ). However, these plans were rejected by a central commission within the Ministry. The decision effectively stops the complete renovation project, citing prohibitive costs. This means the section remains impassable and the future of the entire railway line is now uncertain. The stoppage represents a significant setback for advocates hoping to revitalize this historically and locally important route.
