Czech motorcycle racer Filip Salač will begin the Moto2 Grand Prix at the Twin Ring Motegi in Japan from second position on the grid. This achievement comes despite a crash during qualifying where he was only able to complete two timed laps. Salač was surpassed in qualifying only by Spanish rider Izan Guevara, who secured the pole position. The incident occurred during the qualifying session for the Grand Prix of Japan. Despite the limited track time due to the fall, Salač demonstrated strong pace and secured a favorable starting spot.
