A new project, “Waste 2030,” aims to address municipal waste management and provide a stable heat source in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. The initiative, a collaboration between Sokolovská uhelná Group and SUAS Group, proposes constructing a facility in Vřesová dedicated to the material and energy recovery of waste. This facility will process communal waste, diverting it from landfills and transforming it into usable energy. Project leaders anticipate the initiative will contribute to reduced heating costs for residents in the region. The project represents a shift towards sustainable waste management practices and energy independence. Construction details and timelines have not yet been disclosed. The facility’s capacity and specific technologies employed remain to be announced.
