Workers at Czech Television (ČT) and Czech Radio (ČRo) began a strike Monday in response to a government-approved bill that would abolish television license fees. The proposed legislation would replace funding from license fees with allocations from the state budget, starting in January. Public broadcasters are protesting the change, fearing potential government influence over their operations. The strike is expected to impact broadcasting, with employees planning to wear black as a sign of protest. Hundreds of workers from both ČT and ČRo are participating in the action. Demonstrators are also planning to form a human chain at Vinohradská street in Prague.
