Czech President Petr Pavel disclosed he personally financed a trip to Morocco and a return flight to participate in municipal elections. He paid 3,750 euros (91,000 Czech koruna) for his vacation in Morocco and an additional 15,000 euros (365,000 Czech koruna) for a return flight to the Czech Republic to fulfill his civic duty in the elections. The Office of the President of the Republic (KPR) confirmed that Pavel's private trip was not covered or organized by the office. Pavel emphasized that these expenses were borne entirely from his personal funds. He returned to the Czech Republic on a regular commercial flight on Thursday. This disclosure aims to address any potential questions regarding the use of public funds for personal or political engagements.
