Five years after a tornado struck Moravská Nová Ves, resident Dušan Haruštiak recounts the harrowing experience. Returning home from work, he warned his wife of an approaching storm, but it quickly escalated into a tornado. The family sought shelter in their bathroom, narrowly avoiding debris as the tornado ripped the roof from their home. Haruštiak believes he would not have survived had he remained in the living room. The house was filled with wreckage and foreign objects after the storm passed. He continues to experience anxiety whenever windy weather arrives, triggering memories of the event.
