A Czech court sentenced three men to prison for stealing cables from a railway corridor near Lipník nad Bečvou, severely disrupting train traffic for twenty hours last year. The men were convicted of theft and endangering public utility operations. Sentences ranged from 1 year and 3 months to 3.5 years in prison. They are also required to pay 1.3 million Czech crowns in damages, with the remaining costs to be determined in a civil suit. The theft caused significant transportation issues and financial losses for the railway operator. The court's decision is not yet final and is subject to appeal.
