The Czech Society for Nature Conservation is actively purchasing land to restore natural habitats for endangered plant and animal species. Currently, they are fundraising to buy three hectares in the Bohemian Central Mountains. This initiative builds on previous successes, already securing over fifty locations crucial for biodiversity. A recent purchase focused on protecting a rare gentian flower, with conservationists working to create optimal growing conditions. Supported by local groups and volunteers, the society manages 200 hectares across the Czech Republic, including sites like Zázmoníky, Zbytka, and Tůň Triangl. Funding comes from the public fundraising campaign “Spaces for Nature,” which encourages both financial contributions and volunteer participation.
