The Czech Army will officially receive its first of two Embraer C-390 Millennium transport aircraft this Thursday. The acquisition contract, worth 11.3 billion Czech crowns (excluding VAT), was signed with the Brazilian manufacturer in October 2024 under the leadership of former Defence Minister Jana Černochová. This purchase significantly enhances the Czech military’s transport capabilities. The aircraft are designed for medium-range transport, enabling a wider range of operations. Beyond troop and cargo transport, the planes are equipped for crucial civil missions like firefighting and medical evacuation. The delivery marks a substantial modernization effort for the Czech Armed Forces. The second aircraft is expected to follow soon, completing the initial order.
