Cyprus is actively engaging with Thailand as it prepares to lead the Council of the European Union in January 2026. The Cypriot Ambassador to Thailand, Evagoras Vryonides, hosted a luncheon in Bangkok to highlight the upcoming presidency. The event brought together prominent Thai business leaders, government representatives, and members of the diplomatic community. The reception served as a platform to discuss potential collaborations and strengthen ties between Cyprus and Thailand during the six-month presidency. Honorary Consul of Cyprus, Paniti Vasuratna, also participated in the event. This outreach signals Cyprus’s intention to prioritize engagement with Southeast Asian nations during its EU leadership role.
