Croatian oil pipeline company Janaf has announced it secured an extension from the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) allowing it to continue transporting oil for Serbian oil company NIS. The license, crucial for ongoing operations, is valid until July 1, 2026. This extension permits Janaf to maintain its existing transport services to NIS, avoiding potential disruptions. The original license was nearing expiration, creating uncertainty regarding future transport capabilities. Janaf reported the renewal, highlighting its importance for regional energy supply chains. The OFAC license is required due to sanctions related to NIS’s ownership structure. This continued authorization ensures stability in oil transit arrangements between Croatia and Serbia.
