The dispute centers on the government’s recent attempt to repossess the land, which FCCU argues is a violation of a lease extended until 2048. The Punjab government claims the lease expired and significant payments are outstanding since 1975, and alleges commercial use of land designated for education. FCCU’s counsel argued the government’s actions on June 11th were illegal and requested restoration of possession. Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad suspended the Board of Revenue’s lease cancellation decision, emphasizing the need for proper notice before any recovery attempts.
