A 49-year-old woman, Phạm Thị Hoài, has been formally charged in Vietnam with selling counterfeit eyewear. Authorities initiated legal proceedings after discovering hundreds of pairs of fake prescription glasses bearing the trademarks of luxury brands – Gucci, Dior, and Chanel – during a search of her store. The glasses were falsely presented as authentic products of these protected brands. The investigation followed a police inspection of the retail outlet. Ms. Hoài now faces potential legal consequences for trademark infringement and the sale of counterfeit goods. This case highlights ongoing efforts to combat the proliferation of fake luxury items within the country.
