The Port of Constanța is enhancing its security measures with the implementation of two specialized drone detection and monitoring systems, operational from Tuesday. These systems will be strategically positioned along the port’s north and south breakwaters to address growing security concerns. Officials from CN APMC assure that the systems won’t interfere with navigational safety. Powered by solar and wind energy, the drones can operate autonomously for over 30 days and move at speeds exceeding 9 km/h. This upgrade follows an incident in which a Ukrainian maritime drone exploded within the port over a month and a half ago, prompting the increased focus on port security. The new systems represent a proactive step in safeguarding the critical infrastructure of the Romanian port.
