Conjoined twins, Zainab and Umme Kulsum, born to Nahid Hasan and Sanjida Akter in Kustia’s Daulatpur upazila, will receive medical treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) free of charge, as announced by the Health Minister. The twins were admitted to the hospital’s pediatric department on Monday night, August 10th. Their condition requires specialized medical attention, which will be fully covered by the government. The hospital will provide comprehensive care for the infants, assessing their condition and formulating a treatment plan. This decision ensures the twins have access to the necessary medical resources despite potential financial constraints for their family. Authorities are preparing for a potential surge in dengue cases in Dhaka as September approaches, alongside focusing on the twins' well-being.
