The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has dismissed an election protest filed against Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda. The protest was initiated by losing candidate Danilo Baylon following the 2025 elections. Comelec’s First Division issued a nine-page order on July 28th, rejecting a request for a manual recount of votes. The decision effectively upholds Governor Pineda’s victory. The Comelec found no merit to proceed with a recount based on the evidence presented. This ruling concludes the legal challenge to Pineda’s gubernatorial win, solidifying her position as governor.
