The Colombian Ministry of Finance (MinHacienda) has formally submitted the budget for the General System of Royalties (SGR) totaling $27.5 billion for the 2027-2028 biennium. Of this total, $25.93 billion is earmarked for investment initiatives across the country. An additional $964 billion is allocated towards savings through two key funds: the Savings and Stabilization Fund (FAE) and the National Pension Fund for Territorial Entities (Fonpet). These funds aim to ensure financial stability and long-term sustainability. The budget proposal indicates a strategic focus on both immediate investment and responsible financial management within Colombia. This allocation represents a significant financial commitment to regional development via the SGR system. The proposal now moves to the legislative branch for review and approval.
