The Colombian army has dismantled a drug laboratory located in the southwestern region of the country, confiscating more than 1.8 tons of cocaine. The operation targeted a production facility attributed to the leftist guerrilla group ELN (Ejército de Liberación Nacional). President Abelardo de la Espriella directly linked the lab’s operations to the ELN. This seizure represents a significant blow to the group's illicit drug trafficking activities and funding sources. Authorities did not disclose the precise location of the lab for security reasons. The destruction of the lab underscores the ongoing efforts by the Colombian government to combat drug production and dismantle criminal organizations operating within its borders. Further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those involved in the operation.
