Widespread overnight frosts were recorded across Northern Finland on Monday morning. The coldest temperature of the autumn so far was measured in Muonio, near Oustajärvi, plummeting to -13.3°C after 8:00 AM local time. Foreca’s on-call meteorologist, Joanna Rinne, reports that overnight frosts were also observed in a broader area ranging from Northern Ostrobothnia to North Ostrobothnia, Kainuu and Lapland. The cold snap indicates a shift in weather patterns. Further changes in conditions are anticipated in the coming days. Residents in these areas should prepare for potentially icy conditions and colder temperatures. This marks a significant drop in temperatures as autumn progresses in Finland.
