Finnish Minister of Social Affairs and Health Wille Rydman has accused the Swedish People’s Party (RKP) of violating established governmental protocols by encroaching on his ministerial responsibilities regarding social and healthcare organization funding criteria. Rydman contends that the RKP attempted to circumvent the designated minister and initiate policy decisions independently. The dispute centers on the criteria for allocating funding to social and healthcare organizations, which Rydman had already announced. Other governing parties decided that their permanent secretaries would draft a proposal for the criteria, to be finalized by the government through a decree. Rydman maintains his previously announced criteria remain valid and should not require further collective governmental approval. He described the actions as a serious breach of trust and unprecedented within the coalition. The situation unfolded during public comments at the Suomi-Areena event in Pori.
