Panama will be unable to fully experience this month’s most anticipated astronomical event: a lunar eclipse. The eclipse was scheduled to begin visibility at 9:34 p.m. local time with the partial phase, as the Earth’s shadow gradually covers the moon. Unfortunately, unfavorable weather conditions, specifically extensive cloud cover, are obstructing the view. This prevents residents from observing the spectacle. While the eclipse will still occur, Panamanian skywatchers will miss the opportunity to witness the event firsthand. Astronomers regret the circumstances, but the eclipse remains visible from other locations with clearer skies.
