Cirebon Regency’s Social Affairs Office has responded to recent economic mapping data revealing a higher-than-expected percentage of households in the lowest economic decile (Desil 1). National targets aimed to reach 10 percent of the population within Desil 1, however, Cirebon Regency has surpassed this, reaching 15 percent according to the National Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN). This indicates a greater concentration of poverty within the regency than initially anticipated. Officials are now analyzing the data to understand the specific needs of this population and refine social welfare programs. The DTSEN data provides a crucial baseline for targeted assistance and resource allocation. Further investigation will determine the factors contributing to this higher percentage and ensure effective support reaches those most in need. This finding prompts a re-evaluation of poverty alleviation strategies in the region.
