The 175th Akutagawa and Naoki literary awards were presented in Tokyo today. Chito Osakawab was awarded the Akutagawa Prize for her work, “Zombie Recovery Woman.” Simultaneously, Kasumi Asakura received the Naoki Prize for her novel, "Kengwai.” These awards are among the most prestigious in Japanese literature, recognizing outstanding new works of fiction. The selection committee praised Osakawab’s unique narrative and Asakura's compelling storytelling. Both authors are relatively new to the literary scene, making their wins particularly notable.
