Beijing is employing a multi-faceted strategy to assert control in the East and South China Seas, combining increased maritime patrols with sophisticated AI-driven propaganda campaigns. This approach also includes attempts to legally frame the region, creating a perceived illusion of administrative control over Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines. An analyst argues that Taiwan must proactively counter this “jurisdictional enclosure” by establishing a regional evidence network with neighboring countries. This network would focus on standardizing real-time data verification and authenticating media to expose and challenge Chinese actions. By clarifying international law and collectively documenting incidents, Taiwan can strengthen regional security and bolster a unified response. The initiative aims to transform isolated events into collective security concerns, thereby deterring further coercion.
