A new exhibition titled “Retratos” (Portraits) is currently on display at the Edificio Artigas cultural space in Uruguay. The show features the most emblematic works of Uruguayan painter Carmelo de Arzadun (1888-1968), known for his portraiture and depictions of the Uruguayan countryside and Montevideo. Arzadun also studied and painted in Paris, capturing the city with similar passion. He was a key figure in the development of Uruguayan Planism alongside artists like Petrona Viera. The exhibition focuses on his portraits, many of which portray family members, highlighting his creative diversity and artistic evolution over time. The exhibit is free to the public and runs until October 2nd, from 12:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, at Rincón 487, basement, in Uruguay.
