A rescue operation unfolded Sunday evening in Smestad, Rælingen, Norway, after a canoe capsized, leaving three individuals in the water. Emergency services, including a fire boat and a civilian vessel, responded swiftly to the scene. All three individuals were successfully brought ashore and assessed by ambulance personnel. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were sustained, though the canoeists were experiencing symptoms of hypothermia due to the cold water. The rescue helicopter was stood down and returned to base after confirming the individuals’ stable condition. There were no other occupants in the canoe.
