Cameroon is launching its 24th “Vacation Without AIDS” campaign, targeting 9 million people with crucial health messaging. This year's campaign, themed “Responsible Holidays: Youth Without AIDS,” expands its focus to include prevention efforts for malaria and tuberculosis alongside HIV/AIDS. Organizers plan to train nearly 1,100 community educators and utilize a multi-pronged communication strategy encompassing community outreach, traditional media, and digital platforms. The initiative aims to test 40,000-50,000 individuals for HIV, strengthen Hepatitis B screening, and distribute 900,000 condoms and lubricants. A key goal is ensuring at least 95% of newly diagnosed HIV-positive individuals receive treatment. The campaign builds upon the successes of previous iterations and seeks collaboration with government bodies, local communities, and financial partners.
