The UNESCO Regional Bureau for Central Africa recently hosted an event by Min’art & AMIS, bringing together Cameroonian youth to celebrate and reimagine their cultural heritage. The initiative focused on traditional clothing, jewelry making, and local craftsmanship, emphasizing the importance of transmitting cultural knowledge. Participants engaged in intergenerational exchanges, fostering a living space for cultural transmission and creative expression. Beyond the workshop, the event highlighted the economic and creative potential of these practices for Cameroon’s Cultural and Creative Industries. This approach aims to transform ancestral heritage into a driver for innovation, employment and strengthened identity. The event underscored culture as a source of resilience and pride, especially when championed by young people.
