Cameroon’s National Shippers' Council (CNCC) has suspended requirements for the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (BESC) for goods in transit, effective immediately and until further notice. This decision aims to streamline trade along sub-regional corridors, particularly those serving Chad and the Central African Republic, following recommendations from a recent tripartite forum. The suspension applies to all actors in the logistics and foreign trade chain, including shippers, customs agents, freight forwarders, and carriers. The CNCC states the move will reduce administrative burdens and operational constraints for businesses involved in regional trade. While the BESC requirement is lifted, the CNCC emphasizes that mechanisms for cargo traceability will remain in place. The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve logistical competitiveness and facilitate commercial exchange within the sub-region. Operators are advised to contact the CNCC for further details.
