Emmanuel Ndali has been elected as the new mayor of Makénéné, Cameroon, following a special municipal council session held on June 16, 2026. Ndali, a member of the ruling Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM), narrowly defeated his competitor, Nazaire Brolin Njantou Ngadep, securing 12 out of 23 votes (52.17%). The election was overseen by representatives from the CPDM and local administrative officials, including the prefect and sub-prefect. Ndali’s victory maintains the CPDM’s leadership in the locality, filling the position left vacant by the death of former mayor David Imbeng in March 2026. The results were announced publicly by the council’s interim bureau. Ndali will serve until the next municipal elections scheduled for early 2027, where he will seek to solidify his position.
