Member of Parliament Joshua Osih, representing the Social Democratic Front, has submitted five legislative proposals to the Cameroonian Parliament. These proposals are scheduled for debate during the current parliamentary session in June. Two of the primary texts focus on critical social issues that have gained broad consensus within the country. The first proposal aims to prevent and repress femicides and general violence against women. The second text seeks to strengthen protections for children against sexual violence and kidnappings. Additionally, this measure targets the eradication of human trafficking and ritual crimes. These legislative efforts represent a push for increased legal accountability and safety for vulnerable populations.
