Cambodia’s fresh durian exports to China have skyrocketed in the first seven months of 2026, reaching 5,738 tonnes. This represents an almost 40-fold increase compared to the entire year of 2025, indicating rapid growth in demand. Chinese importers are increasingly turning to Cambodian durian, shifting away from traditional sourcing in Thailand. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has acknowledged the substantial surge in exports. This trend suggests a growing preference for Cambodian durian within the Chinese market.
