Thirty-seven Bangladeshi citizens have returned home from Cambodia after being rescued from cyber scam operations. The individuals were reportedly lured to Cambodia with promises of lucrative employment, only to be forced into carrying out cyber fraud. Upon arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport late Thursday night via Thai Airways, the victims detailed their experiences of coercion and exploitation. The returnees arrived on a flight at 1:25 AM. The rescue operation was facilitated with the assistance of the non-governmental organization BRAC, which provided support during the repatriation process. Authorities are investigating the recruitment practices that led to these citizens being trafficked for exploitative labor. This incident highlights the growing threat of cyber scams targeting Bangladeshi workers seeking opportunities abroad.
