Cambodian authorities reported a decline in drug cases during the first half of 2026, alongside the seizure of over four tonnes of illegal narcotics and precursor chemicals. The National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD) revealed these figures during its mid-year review on June 24th. Despite the decrease in cases, nearly 20,000 individuals across the country were identified as drug users. NACD Secretary-General Meas Virith presented the data, highlighting ongoing law enforcement efforts. The seized substances included a variety of illicit drugs and the chemicals used in their production. These results indicate continued efforts to combat drug trafficking and usage within Cambodia, even as the nature of the problem evolves. Further details regarding specific drug types and case breakdowns were not immediately available.
