Cambodia has become the first Asian nation to establish a nationally-operated climate lending facility backed by the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Officially launched on June 17th, the Cambodia Climate Finance Facility (CCFF) aims to stimulate private sector investment in climate change mitigation and adaptation projects. The CCFF represents a significant step forward in the country’s efforts to access and deploy climate finance at a national level. It transitions from a preparation phase to active implementation, providing long-term financial resources. This initiative is designed to support a range of climate-focused projects across various sectors. The GCF’s support underscores its commitment to assisting developing countries in addressing climate challenges and achieving sustainable development goals.
