Cambodia has introduced a new financing scheme, the Energy Efficiency Financing Scheme (EEFS), offering loans up to $1 million to its small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These loans will be provided at concessional interest rates, specifically to fund investments in energy-efficient equipment and renewable energy technologies. The initiative is designed to reduce the operating costs faced by Cambodian businesses, boosting their overall competitiveness in the market. By adopting these technologies, SMEs can lower energy consumption and contribute to a more sustainable economy. The EEFS represents a significant step towards supporting green growth and improving the financial health of the country’s vital SME sector. This program aims to facilitate a transition to more sustainable business practices within Cambodia.
