A two-year-old child was rescued from an overheated vehicle in Krimpen aan den IJssel. The child had been left alone in the car for approximately ten minutes. Concerned bystanders intervened and managed to open a window to extract the child before police arrived. Police received a report stating that a young child was trapped inside the car. By the time officers reached the scene, the rescue had already been taken place. It remains unclear why the child was left unattended in the vehicle. A report has been filed with Veilig Thuis, the Dutch child safety organization.
