Burgas, a Black Sea city in Bulgaria, has been officially chosen to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027. The selection, announced Thursday by organizers according to Euronews, surprised many as the capital city, Sofia, also bid for the event. Burgas, the fourth-largest city in Bulgaria, was favored for its “uniqueness.” This marks the first time Bulgaria will host the internationally renowned music competition. Organizers believe Burgas offers a distinctive setting for the contest. The decision signals a move to showcase diverse locations within the country. Preparations are now underway to prepare the city for the large-scale event and influx of visitors.
