Veteran Supreme Court of Cassation Judge Kalin Kalpachiev has publicly called for a comprehensive review of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office. In comments to the “Dnevnik” newspaper, Kalpachiev, who also serves on the Supreme Judicial Council (VSS), stated that a probe into key departments and personnel within the prosecutor’s office is necessary. He emphasized the need for scrutiny of critical figures and units within the judicial system. Kalpachiev, boasting 30 years of judicial experience, believes the newly appointed VSS should prioritize this assessment. The call for review suggests potential concerns regarding operations or integrity within the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office.
