Bulgaria’s “Choose Bulgaria” program has successfully re-employed nearly 1,900 professionals who had previously worked abroad. The initiative provided over €463,000 in funding to doctors, teachers, IT specialists, and other qualified individuals returning to the country. A total of 4,142 people applied for participation in the program, indicating significant interest in returning to Bulgaria. The funding aims to address skill shortages and boost the national workforce by incentivizing the return of experienced professionals. The program’s success demonstrates a focused effort to counteract brain drain and leverage the expertise of Bulgarians working internationally.
