Budapest is introducing a new electric bike share program, “Mol Bubi,” set to launch in the second half of July. Users will be able to rent a bike for 3500 forints per month, allowing for 30 minutes of usage, or even two bikes simultaneously. Public transport pass holders with a BKK-bérletes will receive an additional 20 percent discount on the monthly fee. The program aims to provide an affordable and accessible transportation option for residents and visitors. This initiative expands upon the existing bike-sharing scheme with a fully electric fleet. The pricing structure encourages short trips and frequent use of the service. Further details regarding station locations and bike availability will be released closer to the launch date.
