Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and local villagers successfully resisted an attempt to push nine women across the border from India into Bangladesh near Birampur, Dinajpur. The Border Security Force (BSF) had detained the women with the intention of illegally pushing them into Bangladesh. Faced with strong opposition from both the BGB and residents, the BSF were forced to take the women back across the border on Sunday morning. The whereabouts of the women remain unknown at this time. The incident occurred after a previous attempt to push the women across the border on Friday morning failed. This highlights ongoing concerns regarding illegal cross-border activity and potential human trafficking in the region.
